Performing calculations

After running system checks on selected portions of the drawing, and then a system check on the entire drawing, and correcting all errors, calculations can be performed using the FEA core.

After a calculation, Influence lines are created and display on the drawing. Reaction forces are applied to hoists; label fills are colored according to the workload status.

Calculating selected or visible objects

Before calculating all objects, run calculations on a smaller subset of objects. This allows you to detect problems before calculating everything in the drawing.

To run calculations on selected or visible objects:

Select the objects to be calculated, or set the visibility of object classes or layers so that only the objects of interest are visible.

Select the appropriate command. The Calculation overview dialog box opens, listing any issues and providing calculation data.

Performing final calculations on all objects

When the drawing is complete and errors have been addressed, run the final calculation on all rigging objects in the file.
